ARCHITECT RESEARCH;

Elizabeth Watson Brown Architects

Elizabeth Watson Brown Architects is dedicated to the exploration and delivery of high-quality, appropriate design for the subtropics. Established in 1990, the practice is a run as a small collaborative design studio focusing primarily on residential projects. Elizabeth Watson Brown has received significant industry recognition in the form of individual awards and she has often been an invited commentator on Queensland architecture at public forums and in the national media. Using fairly minimal means, Watson Brown’s houses convey a sense of grandeur, with generous proportions contributing to a pervasive quality of languorous elegance. Her architecture is notable for the blurring of boundaries between the landscape and interior domestic space and a sensuous engagement with the subtropical climate.
